Forestry Student Scholarships & Graduate Work Programmes
Kaingaroa Timberlands Kaitiaki o te Ngahere Scholarship
On behalf of Kaingaroa Timberlands we offer the Kaitiaki o te Ngahere scholarship. This scholarship is offered to students undertaking a course of study in a forestry discipline. The scholarship includes payment of your course fees for the full period of study towards your qualification, priority to be selected for work experience with TL during your holiday breaks and may be concluded by taking up a graduate position at the end of your study. We aim to award the scholarship within the first two terms of the study year, once students are committed to their course of study. We welcome applications from January through to the end of April of any given year. KT Scholarship Recipient Profile: "Paul Gray is the 2008 recipient of the KT Kaitiaki Scholarship. Paul has grown up in Rotorua and is familiar wih the benefits of forestry to the region. He has a solid record of both academic and sporting achievements from Western Heights High School. Paul commenced study towards a Batchelor of Forestry Science degree at the University of Canterbury in 2008, and is appreciative of the support received through the scholarship and the opportunities presented to him for work experience with TIMBERLANDS Limited." - Paul Gray, Aug 2008
Work Experience and Graduate Positions
TIMBERLANDS' offers holiday work experience opportunities and a graduate programme. Students currently studying towards a forestry qualification can undertake paid work experience over the summer holiday period, including, if applicable, completing a dissertation. In your final year prior to graduating, students have the opportunity to apply for a graduate position with TIMBERLANDS. These positions are offered annually and comprise of a two-year fixed term contract, during which you will be rotated throughout the business to build practical skills and knowledge across all forest management disciplines. Towards the end of the programme, you will have the opportunity to apply for any permanent positions that become available within the company.
